As citizens of EU & EFTA states, you have the right to free entry, free residence and free choice of domicile within the member states of the EU, the EEA (EU plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) and Switzerland.

You can enter the country with a valid passport or identity card.

Holders of a valid residence permit or a valid Schengen visa for multiple entry are exempt from the visa requirement when entering, transiting or staying for up to 90 days. The residence permit or valid Schengen visa must be carried in conjunction with a valid passport.

Important note for stopovers in the United Kingdom: As soon as you pass through UK border control, a UK ETA will be required from 02.04.2025. This is the case, for example, if you are changing terminals or continuing your flight from another airport.

We also recommend applying for an ETA in other cases to avoid entry difficulties in the event of unforeseen events (e.g. medical emergencies, flight cancellation with necessary overnight stay).
