Australia - Workation incl. Certificate of Coverage (CoC)

The term workation is an artificial word, which is composed of the two English terms work and vacation.

Workation:

• Apply to any work-related activities while on vacation, e.g.:
  • Managing e-mails
  • Conference calls
• Group of people:
  • Employed / Employee 
  • Self-employed / Freelancer

You need the social security certificate (A1 certificate / certificate of posting) if you travel to a third country with a social security agreement as an employee or self-employed person for professional reasons. The social security certificate confirms that you pay social security contributions (including health insurance contributions) in your country of primary residence. The social security certificate is valid per entry.

Notes on ETA approval:

• The Electronic Approval (Subclass 601) allows tourists and business travelers a short stays

Tourist ETA:

• The Tourist ETA exclusively valid for the purposes of tourism, among others Holiday travel, leisure and recreation and family visits and / or friends
• Valid from the date one year
• Repeated entries of up to 3 months stay per entry

Business ETA:

• The Business ETA only valid for business purposes, inter alia, Attending conferences, negotiations or business orientation trip
• Valid from the date one year
• Repeated entries of up to 3 months stay per entry

Filing of the passport photo:

• Upload your photo in your customer account high
• An appropriate number of passport photos we print it out
• Note for the independent creation of a right of consular passport photo page

Alternative:

• Send us along with your documents a color passport photo too.

Requirements for a passport copy:

• Please upload a well readable, colored scan on order
• Validity of the passport beyond the date of departure at least six months

Note further medical evidence:

• The Consulate / Embassy may request a medical examination by an expert recognized by the Embassy panel doctor
• A medical examination by the own general practitioner is not allowed
• The cost of the medical examination shall be borne by the traveler

• Visa regulations may vary depending on the nationality of the traveler.

As part of the German-Austrailian agreement on Social Security of 09.03.2007 a proof of social security is carry along.
