Canada: an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) is a mandatory requirement for entry and transit on 30 Sep. 2016

The Canadian Consulate informs:

 

As of September 30, 16, citizens with German nationality require an ETA for entry and transit. You need a confirmed ETA before boarding the flight to Canada. The ETA is valid for 5 years.
