India: existing visas that have not expired are valid again, except for tourists and medical visas. New applications are possible again.

India Consulate announced:

The India visa categories - except tourists and medical visas - can be applied again.

The DVKG takes over the verification of the visa document set. Afterwards, the documents are handed over to the consulate for application. It is still up to the consulate whether a visa is granted.

Important documents are - please upload them as color scan in the order:

• Invitation from India with explanation of urgency
• Letter of appointment of the German company with explanation of the urgency in agreement with the invitation
• Visa application - easy to experience via the DVKG online application
• Page of the passport with personal data
• Submission Munich: Front and back of the identity card
• Work permit, should one be available

France: Curfew

The French government has introduced a strict curfew. People are only allowed to leave the house if absolutely necessary. Everyone must carry an official form, an entry permit. Failure to do so will result in a fine of 135 euros. Further information is available on the homepage of the French Ministry of the Interior. South Africa has reinstated visa-free status for citizens of 11 countries and territories.

Key Points: 

• Visa-free status has been reinstated for citizens of France, Germany, Hong Kong, Iran, Italy, Portugal, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States. Travelers from these countries will be subject to entry testing requirements and health protocols when traveling to South Africa. 
• Individuals from COVID-19 high-risk countries, including those from visa-free countries/territories, who wish to travel to South Africa for business purposes are allowed to apply to the Minister of Home Affairs in writing. This list was updated on Oct. 19.  Other categories of people who can seek approval to enter are:
  • Long-term visa holders who visit the country for business purposes
  • Diplomats
  • Repatriated persons
  • Investors 
• Applications must be sent to Covid19BusinessTravel@dha.gov.za and include the following: 
  • a copy of a passport and/or temporary residence visa
  • proof of business activities to be conducted 
  • proof of a travel itinerary
  • proof of address or accommodation in South Africa.
• Visitors coming for three months or less from low-risk countries are allowed to enter as well, but they are subject to COVID-19 health protocols. 

China again allows direct flights from 8 countries to Beijing, among others from Austria

China will again allow foreign direct flights to Beijing from tomorrow, September 3, 2020. According to Reuters, eight countries will initially be allowed to fly to the Chinese capital. In addition to Sweden, Greece, Denmark, Canada, Thailand, Cambodia, Pakistan and Austria.

China Business Visa: DVKG assists in applying for an official invitation (PU invitation)

The Chinese consulate currently only issues business visas if an official invitation (also known as a PU invitation) has been issued. The DVKG can assist you in applying for an official invitation.
