China: Hague Apostille Convention in force from 7 November 2023
06/11/2023 10:00

The Hague Apostille Convention will come into effect between the Federal Republic of Germany and the People's Republic of China on 7 November 2023. Thus there will be no need to have documents from the respective issuing state legalised by the accredited foreign representations of the destination state for use in the destination state. Accordingly the legalisation process for public documents will be replaced by the so-called "apostille". The apostille confirms that the signature is genuine and that the issuer of the document is authorised to do so.
